Housework!
Sometimes housework becomes monotonous. If that is the case, then go the second mile and do more than the usual! Focus on a little detail, and do it with perfection. What a sense of accomplishment it brings! And don't ever expect your husband to help out. If he wants to, great. But most guys don't, and won't. Don't expect them to, they will resent you for it! House work is a woman's noble duty and responsibility. Even if you hate it, sorry! It's our duty, so go the second mile, and get out of it what you put into it. Also, don't expect recognition for your work. You may or may not get it. Expecting it will only get you disappointed! And you never know when your husband may surprise you and tell you how much he appreciates what you do. No matter what happens, do your duty, do it well, and do it cheefully. Why do women talk about housework like it's a plague? Like it's a horrible, awful, dirty job that we get "stuck with". What is more important than your home life? Making your home beautiful and clean should be our pride and joy!

Did you steal that out of the fascinating womanhoood book? lol :) I think housework is called "work" for a reason. It's not meant to be fun....but it gives you an incredible sense of accomplishment when you've completed it! The harder you work...the greater the reward!
ReplyDeleteyes, the book does talk about this and I completely agree with it! it's hard work and it's supposed to be!
ReplyDeleteHi Clarissa - you commented on my blog once about Bodyrock. Anyway, just linked over here to you and I totally agree with this post. Here are some of my thoughts on housework and motherhood - some good articles to read that I thought you might like. :) http://thewridefamily.blogspot.com/2011/05/missing-blender-and-motherhood.html
